- Lighting – CSS have already put in place LED lights throughout the Company, in certain areas there is motion sensors which save on energy when not activated, CSS are reviewing other areas where we can put this in place.
- Scrap Materials (Swarf) – CSS have separate bins which we collect the same materials, i.e. Aluminium bin, Titanium Bin, Brass Bin, Copper Bin, etc., all of this are sent for recycling separately to a local Company who sell back to Industry.
- Climate Control – CSS have no heating so no energy is utilised for Heating, the intention is to look at a system which will give us climate control and temperature will be constant over all seasons allowing machines to operate more efficiently, longer utilisation of Tools. There are two Full size doors in the Factory and if these are opened this can change the Temperature within the Factory so we are looking at installing Curtains on each door to prevent this or minimise the temperature change.
- Solar Panels – CSS have been contacting Government Agencies – Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise, etc. for Grants to pay towards having Solar Panels installed, this would reduce our Energy grab and make CSS more Environmentally Friendly.
- Machine Cutting Fluids – CSS use water soluble Metal Cutting Fluids, when Fluid is changed it is then disposed of, the Company who sells also collects and recycles.
- Deliveries to customers – CSS use Carriers who collect multiple Customer parts (BOXED) and deliver on route, CSS does have a Company Van for urgent deliveries to specific customers when they arise due to urgency from Customer.
